Job description
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior IT Project Manager to join the Application Portfolio Modernization (APM) team in Brampton. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex application migration and modernization projects, ensuring the company’s software portfolio remains in a "technical and functional state of good repair." You will be responsible for navigating the entire project lifecycle—from assessment and remediation to replacement or retirement—while adhering to strict corporate standards for security, privacy, and architecture.

Duration: 12-month contract

Location: Brampton, Ontario (Onsite)

Competitive pay

Advantages
Portfolio-Wide Influence: Manage a diverse range of applications, impacting the technical health of an entire infrastructure.

Strategic Visibility: Provide regular updates to executive leadership, influencing the "Refine vs. Retire" decisions for key software assets.

Complex Problem Solving: Navigate the intricacies of legacy dependencies while implementing modern, secure cloud or platform-based solutions.

Stability: A 12-month initial term within a structured APM program that is central to the industry's long-term IT strategy.

Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
End-to-End Delivery: Plan and manage the full lifecycle of large, complex IT projects under the APM program to meet scope, quality, budget, and schedule objectives.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams and act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, vendors, and technical resources.

Bridge Definition & Build: Facilitate seamless collaboration between Business Analysts (requirements) and Platform Teams (build) to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.

Planning & Operations
Detailed Planning: Develop and maintain rigorous project plans, resource allocations, and schedules using MS Project.

Logistics Coordination: Manage the operational elements and logistics for all IT projects within the APM portfolio to ensure corporate timeframe requirements are met.

Standards Alignment: Work closely with Architecture, Security, Privacy, and Operations teams to ensure all modernized applications meet current enterprise standards.

Risk & Change Management
Technical Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify legacy system dependencies and technical roadblocks, implementing robust mitigation strategies to avoid project delays.

OCM Oversight: Lead Organizational Change Management (OCM) efforts, ensuring business units are technically and operationally prepared for the transition from legacy tools to modern platforms.

UAT Coordination: Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and secure formal sign-offs from business owners.

Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of IT Project Management experience, specifically leading Application Migration and Modernization programs in large enterprise or public sector environments.

Modernization Expertise: Proven track record in assessing application "condition levels" and executing upgrade, replacement, or retirement strategies.

Technical Integration: Deep understanding of how to align project delivery with Security, Privacy, and Enterprise Architecture standards.

Tools: Expert proficiency in MS Project and other enterprise project management software.

Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical progress and roadblocks into business-relevant updates for executive leadership.

Education: University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP certification is highly preferred.

Summary
If you are a seasoned Project Manager who excels at moving legacy portfolios into the future while maintaining strict adherence to budget and quality standards, we encourage you to apply online at www.randstad.ca.

Only qualified candidates will be contacted for the next steps. We look forward to hearing from you!
