Job description

Your Opportunity:

Stettler is located in the Heart of Alberta, just 179 km southeast of Edmonton and 101 km east of Red Deer. It serves as a regional hub with a main trading area involving over 11,000 people. The town has a wide assortment of community facilities including an elementary/junior high school, a composite high school, a library, twin arenas, an aquatic Centre, a performing arts theatre, and much more. The area also has a few golf courses and is close to Buffalo Lake. Stettler Hospital boasts a twenty-six bed Medical / Surgical Inpatient Unit that includes one Palliative and two LDRP suites as well as two monitored close observation beds. Additionally, there is an eight bed Emergency Room and a Surgical / Endoscopy Program. We are seeking Casual Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians (MDRT/MDR) to join our supportive and dedicated team. You will be part of a small, collaborative, and supportive team environment with excellent opportunities for skill development. In this role, you will clean, disinfect, assemble, package, and sterilize medical and surgical instruments. You will ensure accuracy and adherence to medical device reprocessing standards, protocols, and safety practices. Responsibilities also include supporting operating room and endoscopy reprocessing as required and contributing to a respectful, team‑oriented workplace.

Description:

As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

As required.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year experience considered an asset.
