Position Description

PIP Canada is searching for a Product Manager to oversee and develop line(s) of products which are distributed in both the Industrial and Retail channels. The ideal candidate will have at least some experience with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) but it is not required. The candidate ideally has a Project Management or Product Management background. As a Product Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the continuous development and improvement of their respective ranges. This will be achieved by working closely with the development, supply and production teams and the sales team, to ensure that the company's products are relevant, well positioned and competitive in the market. The Product Manager will be responsible for establishing and monitoring the target inventory level, identifying potential suppliers, analyzing ongoing sales and costs, improving overall product line(s) performance.
Objectives of this Role
- Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify, and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
- Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding for Customers, End Users, Sales, and Customer Service.
- Act as the “VOC” from the outside-in to the rest of the organization
- Analyze end user needs vs market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans
- Participate in the NPI processes for both make and buy products of their respective lines from concept to design, sample production, testing, forecast, cost, mass production, promotion, support, and finally, product end of life.
- Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners. Build product trainings
- Communicate via presentations and meetings with our sales teams to ensure they have all the necessary tools to sell your products
- Frequent market comp shops to maintain up-to-date market knowledge of price points, key items, and trends.
- Develop product pricing and positioning strategies. Preparation of the price list. Ensure target margins are maintained and explain variances.
- Work with Marketing department to provide input for marketing collateral development.
- Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
- Working directly with our sales, design, and production teams to bring innovative products to market constantly while maintaining the profitability of your category through constant review of sales data, material costs, and feedback.
- Use market feedback to inform product refinements and ongoing development. Keep product mix updated through seasonal design and refreshes
- Member of the standards board for the respective lines, to the extent possible.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., sales, sourcing, purchasing)
- Ensures that product information is correct and that all new products are entered into the product information data base system.

Cet objectif sera atteint en travaillant en étroite collaboration avec les équipes de développement, d'approvisionnement et de production et l'équipe de vente, afin de s'assurer que les produits de l'entreprise sont pertinents, bien positionnés et compétitifs sur le marché. Le gérant de produit sera responsable d'établir et de surveiller le niveau d'inventaire cible, d'identifier les fournisseurs potentiels, d'analyser les ventes et les coûts en cours, d'améliorer la performance globale des gammes de produits.
