A well-established, profitable Canadian manufacturer with over 50 years in business is looking for a reliable, detail-driven accounting professional to join a tight-knit Markham office. Part of a larger, well-resourced corporate group, this company punches above its weight in terms of the support, infrastructure, and finance expertise available to whoever sits in this seat. This is a role with real ownership, real variety, and the kind of stability that is increasingly hard to find.

This is a 10-person office (100 total with plant) inside a company that has been operating for over 50 years. People here do not job-hop. The environment is collaborative, friendly, and built on genuine relationships. You will have your own private office, the active support of a knowledgeable finance team, and a GM who is present and accessible day-to-day. The company's values are not a poster on the wall. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Own the full bi-weekly payroll cycle end-to-end for a workforce of approximately 100 employees across hourly and salaried pay groups
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor relations and customer collections
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support month-end and year-end close
  • Monitor bank balances and prepare management reports on customers, sales, and purchases
  • Coordinate documentation for the annual external audit
  • Report on group health, RRSP, WSIB, and HST; act as backup administrator for benefits and RRSP programs
  • Maintain bookkeeping for a related holding company (minimal activity)
  • Assist with an upcoming accounting system migration to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

AP,AR,Payroll,Reconciation
  • 3 + years of hands-on accounting experience, including full-cycle payroll
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or a comparable accounting system
  • Payroll platform experience (PayWorks knowledge is an asset; similar platforms considered)
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with the MS Office suite
  • Someone who works independently, stays on top of things without being reminded, and has the confidence to flag something that does not look right
  • A communicator who is clear, professional, and easy to work with across all levels of the organization
  • Someone who genuinely takes pride in accuracy and getting things done the right way
