Fuel Transport is expanding rapidly and is looking for a Payroll Specialist for our office located inLaSalle. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be at the heart of operations, ensuring the smooth and accurate management of payroll processes for all employees. You will collect, verify, and process payroll data with diligence, strictly adhering to internal policies and legal regulations. Job Summary :
- Process payroll for salaried and hourly employees in Canada and the United States.
- Calculate and process salary adjustments, overtime, severance pay, or other special payments for multiple payroll groups, in accordance with company policies and current legislation.
- Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and respond to Service Canada inquiries.
- Ensure payroll compliance by collaborating with internal business unites to align payroll processing with company compensation policies and legal requirements.
- Reconcile and process contributions and payments to the 401(k) plan and group RRSP, and wage garnishments in a timely manner.
- Administer employee benefits for U.S. and Canadian groups, including enrollment, terminations, changes, and invoice reconciliation.
- Provide payroll reports and required details to the finance department for accounting purposes.
- Balance year-end payroll, distribute RL1 / T4 / W2 slips, issue T2200 forms, and audit TD1, payroll summaries, and earnings.
- Support the Human Resources department with payroll inquiries and all strategic business processes and efficiencies.
- Analyze data and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports on earnings, hours, accruals, and withholdings.
- Reconcile and process Ontario WSIB quarterly and CNESST annually.
- Act as the departmental expert for payroll policies, timekeeping, and best practices.
- Perform other related tasks as needed (e.g., answering employee questions and undertake special projects as needed).
