Job description
Dealer Compliance & Audit Specialist, 9-12 month contract:
As the Dealer Compliance & Audit Specialist, you will play a central role in protecting brand integrity and ensuring regulatory alignment across retail sales. You will run routine monitoring on Retail Delivery Records (RDR) to identify anomalies, audit deal documentation and KYC files, track VIN movements, and enforce policy standards.

Working cross-functionally with Legal, IT, and external regulatory authorities (such as CBSA), you will evaluate compliance violations, manage corrective action plans, and build analytics dashboards to track risk trends. This is an exciting greenfield opportunity to shape compliance workflows, introduce automation rules, and deliver actionable insights directly to executive leadership.

Advantages
Impactful Greenfield Role: A newly created position where you can shape processes, build frameworks, and drive meaningful risk mitigation.

Prestigious OEM Brand: Work directly with a global leader in the automotive industry.

High Visibility: Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, IT, Data, and executive leadership teams.

Dynamic Scope: Balanced mix of hands-on data analytics, policy design, and investigative file review.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Anomaly & Sales Monitoring: Run daily checks across sales and Retail Delivery Record (RDR) data to flag suspicious purchasing patterns, out-of-province trends, or reseller risks.

Deal File Audits: Request and review sales records, verifying accuracy, complete KYC documentation, identity proof, and non-export agreements.

Trade & Export Oversight: Track VIN movements, maintain watchlists, and liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., CBSA) via Legal on trade compliance inquiries.

Policy Enforcement & Remedies: Calculate penalties or chargebacks for non-compliance, recommend incentive adjustments, and draft formal dealer communications with Legal.

Dashboards & Automation: Build operational dashboards (PowerBI/Excel) to track case pipelines and partner with IT to develop automated pattern-detection rules.

Qualifications
Experience: 4–7 years in compliance, audit, investigations, fraud, or AML/KYC—OEM / automotive industry experience is strongly preferred.

Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI; strong track record in pattern recognition and data sampling.

Core Competencies: Outstanding written brief/audit report writing, strong project management skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguous, newly created environments.

Requirements: Discretion with sensitive data; willingness to travel and work independently when needed.

Summary
A leading luxury automotive OEM is seeking a Dealer Compliance & Audit Specialist for a newly created position. This role oversees sales audit standards, brand protection, and regulatory compliance (including FINTRAC and trade standards) across the national dealer network. Ideal for a versatile compliance or audit professional, preferably with automotive or regulated distribution experience, who thrives in building new processes in an evolving landscape.
