Qualifications :
An integral member of the Diagnostic Imaging department, MRI technologist responsibilities include : performing MRI exams as outlined in the MRI procedure manual; operating, troubleshooting and ensuring that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner; completing all clerical aspects of exam completion; training of students and new technologists; continuing education as required by associations and needs of department; all patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care; observing and understanding hospital visions and values of teamwork, integrity, excellence, customer-focus and innovation while maintaining patient confidentiality; performing cross-functional responsibilities as assigned, or requested; performing other duties related to the job classification, as required.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures as outlined in MRI procedure Manual;
- Utilizes technical / medical judgement / knowledge to evaluate image quality, and adjusts accordingly;
- Ensures proper screening procedure for patient and anyone else entering magnet room;
- Assess the patient’s condition prior to, during, and after procedures; maintains awareness of procedural complications and reactions during and after procedures; recognizes the conditions requiring immediate attention and initiates appropriate response; documents procedures to ensure precise and accurate procedural records are maintained;
- Performs other duties as required.
