Job descriptionStrong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling. Hands‑on experience with ERDs, data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and data lineage tools. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and design patterns (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema). Familiarity with DataMesh architecture and Data Pattern 5.0. Ability to translate complex business concepts into scalable data models. Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills. Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar). Knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud‑based data architectures.

Data Modeling Specialist
One of our senior consultancy positions is focused on designing and implementing data models for enterprise data platforms, translating business concepts into logical and physical data structures, and ensuring scalability and alignment with modern data architecture principles.
Future Duties and Responsibilities
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for data warehouses, analytics platforms, and data lakehouses.
- Translate business requirements into logical models and physical structures in databases, data warehouses, and lakehouses.
- Develop and maintain ERDs, data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and data lineage documentation.
- Apply best practices in data warehouse design, including star schema and snowflake schema.
- Implement DataMesh architecture principles for creating data products.
- Ensure compliance with Data Pattern 5.0 and other modeling standards.
- Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure models meet business needs.
- Establish and enforce data modeling standards and governance practices.
Required Qualifications
Compensation
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000.

Vaughan, Ontario, Canada – CA$79,538 – CA$93,047
