The Chief Surveyor utilizes their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization. The Chief Surveyor will be assigned to projects in and around the Vancouver area. The responsibilities of the Chief Surveyor include :
- Leading the planning and implementation of survey requirements to execute construction activities;
- Selecting the survey equipment required for the project;
- Ensuring equipment is maintained and calibrated;
- Maintaining accurate survey records documentation and stamped submittals;
- Providing layout at various stages of construction;
- Monitoring organizing and managing the activities of the survey department including assigning surveyors and tasks based on project needs;
- Managing asbuilts information and digital records;
- Ensuring ground surface and office surveys are completed per project requirements;
- Monitoring high level engineering grade construction activities;
- Downloading survey data completing calculations problem solving as well as the maintenance of high accuracy of project information;
- Providing expertise and guidance to the department as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide technical expertise and ensure successful completion of projects;
- Ability to conduct traverse network monitoring topographical and as built surveys as well as construction surveys;
- Providing progress reports and field data to appropriate parties involved in the project.
