Job description
Command the dock for a top-tier transportation leader where your expertise in LTL freight keeps the regional supply chain in motion. This is your opportunity to take full ownership of a high-velocity SE Calgary hub—a role where your independent decision-making and precision directly drive delivery success.

Your Impact
Orchestrate Freight Velocity: Execute the rapid, precision loading and unloading of LTL trailers using a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift.

Master Weight Logistics: Calculate and manage optimal weight distribution across trailers to ensure maximum safety and transport efficiency.

Drive Data Precision: Maintain 100% inventory accuracy by meticulously tracking every freight movement using handheld scanning technology.

Lead Independent Operations: Command the dock with total autonomy, maintaining high-speed throughput while serving as the primary guardian of site safety protocols.

Optimize Your Lifestyle: Anchor a consistent Monday–Friday (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) shift, allowing you to bypass Calgary’s peak traffic while keeping your weekends entirely yours.

Who You Are
LTL Specialist: You bring deep experience in the Less-Than-Truckload sector and understand the unique "puzzle-solving" nature of freight loading.

Skilled Operator: You are a master of the Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift, comfortable maneuvering in fast-paced, high-volume environments.

Independent Decision-Maker: You thrive when given the keys to the dock, capable of managing complex workflows without constant supervision.

Tech-Savvy Logistics Pro: You are proficient with scanning systems and understand the importance of real-time data in the supply chain.

Strategic Thinker: You don't just move pallets; you analyze weight, balance, and safety to ensure every load is road-ready.

Advantages
$22.00 – $23.00 per hour with consistent weekly pay
Thorough afternoon training provided to ensure you are set up for success.
Convenient Southeast Calgary location with free on-site parking
Opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-impact cross-dock environment.
Stable, long-term opportunity with Randstad's growing team.

Responsibilities
Safely operate a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift to move LTL freight across the dock.
Load and unload various types of trailers, ensuring weight distribution is balanced.
Work independently to prioritize shipments based on departure times.
Scan and track freight using handheld devices to maintain 100% inventory accuracy.
Identify and report any damaged goods before they are loaded for transport.
Maintain a clean and organized dock floor to ensure a safe transition for the morning crew

Qualifications
Valid Forklift Ticket/Certification (Required).
Must be available for afternoon training before moving to the regular night shift.
1–2 years of experience operating a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift.
Previous experience with LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight is a major asset.
Must have CSA-approved steel-toed boots and high-visibility gear.

Summary
Ready to own the afternoon shift? We are looking for a true professional who takes safety and efficiency seriously. We are moving quickly to fill this critical spot on our transportation team!
