Job Description:

Project Manager – Healthcare Systems Implementation

Contract Duration: 10 Months

Work Location: Remote (must be local to British Columbia and able to attend site when required)

Project Overview

This engagement supports the replacement of a long‑standing legacy home care platform with a modern, cloud‑based solution to enable the delivery of community and home support services. The current system has been in place for over 15 years and supports critical operational functions such as client visit scheduling, workforce management, mobile enablement for frontline staff, and billing.

The new solution will replace all existing legacy functionality while leveraging enhanced cloud capabilities. Required configurations and customizations will be implemented to support union agreements, HR policies, safety regulations, and operational workflows. The initiative also includes the introduction of new system integrations.

This is a hybrid engagement. While the role will operate predominantly in a remote capacity, on‑site attendance at local offices will be required periodically throughout the project.

Role Summary

The Project Manager will lead the end‑to‑end implementation of a cloud‑based home care scheduling and workforce management platform. This includes overall project governance, vendor management, system and integration oversight, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of all project management activities in alignment with established PMO standards.

  • Oversee system configuration, testing, and integration activities across participating platforms.
  • Monitor vendor performance and adjust timelines as needed to maintain delivery commitments.
Scope, Schedule & Cost Management
  • Lead requirements gathering and scope definition, including WBS development and scope validation.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to identify, clarify, and prioritize requirements.
  • Define project objectives, roles, and responsibilities, including development of a RACI matrix.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
  • Track costs and provide regular financial reporting.
Communications & Stakeholder Management
  • Identify stakeholders and develop comprehensive communication plans.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and support change readiness.
  • Provide regular reporting on project status, scope, financials, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Escalate issues and scope changes outside project authority to sponsors as required.
Risk & Quality Management
  • Lead risk management activities, including identification, analysis, mitigation, and monitoring.
  • Identify resource or capability gaps within technical teams and coordinate resolution.
  • Ensure appropriate testing strategies are executed, including test scripts, validation, and sign‑off.
  • Oversee delivery of required compliance documentation such as security, privacy, and service agreements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Exposure to community health and/or home support operations within a regulated setting considered a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare IT application landscape and evolving approaches to health information management in Canada.
  • Demonstrated strength in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, presentation, and written communication.
