Earthworks Construction – Heavy Equipment Operators:

WCL is hiring heavy equipment operators for the 2024 construction season. This seasonal position requires someone with a personal commitment to working safely and adhering to the company’s health and safety policies and procedures. The applicant must be capable of working a schedule of 12 consecutive days on and 2 days off, approximately 60 hours per week.
WCL is currently looking to fill the following positions:
Excavator:
- Cut to finish grade.
- Load various types of trucks.
Dozer:
- Cut to finish grade.
- GPS experience is an asset.
Grader:
- Cut to finish grade.
- GPS experience is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other minor maintenance work.
- Complete daily equipment pre-trips and logs required for safety and service schedules.
- Complete all necessary daily paperwork. This may include, but is not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspections, hours of service, etc.
Requirements:
- Class 5 driver's license.
- 3 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
