You’ll partner with one of our exceptional studios to lead cross‑functional alignment and ensure excellence in both product development and publishing, delivering a high‑quality, genre‑defining new entry in one of 2K’s most iconic and beloved franchises. Reporting to the VP of Publishing, you’ll guide the studio and game through critical milestones to a successful launch and post‑launch operations. Success in this role depends on your deep production expertise and an ability to influence product strategy, build trust, and drive results through partnership and collaboration. As the voice of the game within 2K and a key advocate for the studio, you’ll align creative vision with business goals and ensure the title delivers an industry‑defining player experience that sets the foundation for long‑term franchise success. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Commercial, Product Management, and other Publishing teams to connect product and franchise strategy with go‑to‑market execution. The ideal candidate is a relationship‑first leader who thrives in a cross‑functional environment, brings clarity to complexity, and relentlessly pushes toward the highest standards of quality.
What You Will Do
- Industry & Product Expertise - Partner with the studio to define and uphold a compelling product vision grounded in player needs, product‑market fit, and high‑quality execution. Use player insights, market research, and competitive analysis to shape strategy and inform long‑term planning. Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial, and Product Management to launch industry‑defining titles that deliver player satisfaction and long‑term success for the franchise, studio, and 2K.
- Judgment & Decision‑Making - Act as “Mission Control” for your titles—driving critical decisions with studio and publishing partners that balance product quality, business objectives, and development realities. Monitor P&L, guide strategic trade‑offs, and align resources for maximum impact. Take a proactive, data‑informed approach to risk management to ensure each title delivers on its creative and commercial potential.
- Leadership - Guide the studio through milestone gates with consistency and clarity, ensuring alignment on vision, deliverables, and success criteria. Champion cross‑functional initiatives that raise the collective bar drive continuous improvement. Mentor and empower a high‑performing publishing production team that thrives on ownership, accountability, and excellence.
- Relationship Building - Establish and nurture a strong, trust‑based partnership with the studio and cross‑functional publishing teams. Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the development team, ensuring creative direction is continuously aligned with market needs, player expectations, and business objectives. Navigate organizational complexity with empathy and influence, unblocking friction points and uniting teams around a shared mission : to launch games that resonate, perform, and endure.
- Communication - Act as the internal champion and primary spokesperson for your studio and titles, delivering crisp, compelling communication at all levels of the organization. Synthesize progress, risks, and strategic context into clear narratives that inform, align, and inspire confidence. Tailor your message to fit the moment — whether aligning executives, motivating teams, or enabling fast, effective decision‑making across disciplines.
- Player‑Focus - Relentlessly advocate for the player at every stage of the product lifecycle. Maintain a deep understanding of audience needs and motivations, and integrate player feedback, data and insights into core development decisions. Ensure that every feature, content beat, and player touchpoint contributes to an experience that’s engaging, resonant and contributes to the long‑term strength of the franchise.
- Quality‑Focus - Champion an uncompromising standard of quality across the product — from gameplay and performance to polish and post‑launch support. Define and drive toward ambitious, player‑informed quality targets that are creatively bold and operationally feasible. Collaborate deeply with studio, QA, and cross‑functional partners to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure that the game delivers a best‑in‑class experience worthy of industry recognition and long‑term impact.
