Job description
About the Job:Totally Raw Pet Food is hiring a Full-Time Machanical/HVAC Technician. This position is looking for an individual with formal HVAC training and experience and strong electrical/mechanical knowledge applicable to Industrial Food Equipment.
After reading the job requirements, we ask interested, qualified applicants to submit a resume and a cover letter outlining their relevant experience. Alternatively, resumes with cover letters may be dropped off at our head office located at 50 Thorne Ave., Dartmouth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial Food Equipment and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Industrial Food Equipment, Refrigeration, HVAC, Ventilation, and Climate Control Equipment.
  • Service and maintain walk-in freezers, compressors, blast freezers, climate-controlled production rooms, and rooftop HVAC units.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to maximize efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete service documentation.
  • Coordinate with production staff and outside service contractors as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with food safety regulations and company safety standards.

Job Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education with a diploma in Refrigeration, Mechanical or Electrical, HVAC specialty or related trade is required.
  • Experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Gmail and Microsoft Office.
  • Well-organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
