Job description

Vice President, Corporate Systems & IT

The Vice President, Corporate Systems & IT leads the strategy, modernization, governance, and operational excellence of Modern Niagara’s corporate systems and enterprise technology environment.

Reporting to the CIO, this role is accountable for the performance, evolution, security, and continuous improvement of core business systems including ERP (NetSuite), HCM (UKG), enterprise infrastructure (Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD), IT service management, cybersecurity, IT policy and standards, and the responsible deployment of corporate AI capabilities.

This leader balances operational reliability with forward-looking transformation, enabling scalable growth and strengthening the company’s digital foundation across the organization.

Why This Role Matters to Modern Niagara

This role is critical to supporting Modern Niagara’s continued growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation. The Vice President, Corporate Systems & IT ensures the organization’s enterprise technology platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.

Their leadership directly impacts business continuity, employee experience, cybersecurity posture, enterprise governance, and the organization’s ability to responsibly adopt emerging technologies, including AI, to improve productivity and decision-making across the business.

Key Impact / Purpose

  • Lead the strategy, governance, modernization, and operational performance of Modern Niagara’s enterprise systems and technology environment.
  • Strengthen organizational scalability, security, resilience, and service delivery through modern infrastructure, cybersecurity, ITSM, and governance practices.
  • Enable business growth and operational efficiency by improving enterprise platforms, business processes, reporting, automation, and responsible AI adoption.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Enterprise Systems Leadership

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, performance, and continuous improvement of Corporate Systems platforms.
  • Partner with Finance, People & Culture, Construction, and corporate functions to improve end-to-end business processes, controls, reporting, and user adoption.
  • Lead needs identification and prioritization with systems integration teams, manage corporate systems data flows, quality and automation, and shared service governance to ensure reliability, scalability, and decision-useful information.

Cloud, Infrastructure & Modern Workplace

  • Own and evolve enterprise cloud and infrastructure strategy, with accountability for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD, networking, endpoint management, and collaboration platforms.
  • Ensure high availability, resilience, scalability, and cost-effective performance across cloud, infrastructure, identity, and workplace technologies.
  • Lead identity and access management strategy, including SSO, MFA, conditional access, privileged access controls, and lifecycle governance.
  • Drive modernization of legacy technologies and establish a secure, well-governed digital workplace.

IT Service Management

  • Establish and mature ITSM capabilities including incident, problem, change, request, asset, and service catalog management.
  • Improve service delivery, user experience, support responsiveness, and operational discipline through defined SLAs, service metrics, and continuous improvement.
  • Build dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into service performance, operational health, and business impact.

Cybersecurity, Risk & Resilience

  • Own enterprise cybersecurity strategy, governance, and execution across identity, endpoint, cloud, network, and third-party risk domains.
  • Strengthen security posture through modern controls, security architecture, awareness, monitoring, and incident response readiness.
  • Lead business continuity, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience planning in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure technology risks are identified, communicated, and managed appropriately at the corporate level.

IT Policy, Standards & Governance

  • Establish and maintain enterprise IT policies, standards, and control frameworks covering infrastructure, security, identity, data, systems administration, access management, retention, acceptable use, and operational practices.
  • Ensure technology policies and standards are practical, enforceable, auditable, and aligned with business, legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Drive governance processes that improve technology decision-making, architectural consistency, and risk-based control maturity.

Corporate AI Enablement

  • Partner with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and responsibly deploy corporate AI use cases that improve productivity, service quality, reporting, or decision support.
  • Establish guardrails, governance, and standards for enterprise AI adoption, including security, privacy, acceptable use, model risk, and human oversight.
  • Evaluate AI-enabled capabilities across Microsoft and Corporate Systems third-party platforms and translate emerging opportunities into scalable, usable, and business-aligned solutions.

Leadership & Vendor Management

  • Build and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary IT organization spanning enterprise applications, infrastructure, service delivery, and cybersecurity.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage strategic relationships with Corporate Systems vendors, partners, managed services providers, and contracts to maximize delivery quality, resilience, and value.

Must haves:

  • 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including 7+ years in senior leadership roles with accountability for enterprise systems, infrastructure, security, and service delivery.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise business platforms, ideally including NetSuite and/or comparable ERP environments, as well as HCM platforms such as UKG or equivalent.
  • Deep experience with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure architecture, Microsoft 365 services, Entra ID / Azure AD, cloud governance, and operational management at scale.
  • Strong expertise in identity and access management, including federation, SSO, MFA, conditional access, RBAC, privileged identity management, and identity lifecycle governance.
  • Demonstrated success leading cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise technology standardization initiatives.
  • Significant experience in cybersecurity leadership, including governance, risk management, resilience planning, and implementation of modern security controls.
  • Experience developing and implementing IT policies, standards, governance frameworks, and IT service management operating models across complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading enterprise AI deployment, including governance, risk controls, acceptable-use policies, and practical business adoption.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, manage strategic vendors, and align technology investments with business priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in construction, engineering, field services, or other project-based operating environments.
  • Graduate degree and/or relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide modernization initiatives within complex multi-site organizations.
  • Strong background in operational reporting, analytics, automation, and systems integration.
