About this position

As an HVAC / R Apprentice with Carrier, you will uniquely impact our customers, becoming the face of the confidence we stand by while ensuring their comfort. You will have the opportunity to learn of Commercial HVAC and you will be critical in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. Chances to work and learn from a team and highlight your ability to both collaborate and individually. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about their trade and wants to take their skills to the next level. This job will be based out of our Mississauga office covering the Greater Toronto area .

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
• Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls
• Install new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid lines
• Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and make necessary adjustment; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
• Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems
• Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belt tensions
• Assemble and install metal ductwork
• Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
• Maintain maintenance records as required by province of Ontario
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required
• Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely
• Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties
• Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments
