Job description

Req ID:511890

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical and analytical expertise in a cutting-edge field as a Engineering Bid Manager within the Integrated Services Readiness.

You'll play a key role in shaping competitive, profitable, and customer-focused bids that align with Alstom's mission to deliver smarter mobility solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business such as Metier leaders, and Tender leaders, gather data from existing projects, and contribute to the creation of technical and cost-effective solutions, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of building cost models for ISR deliverables, such as Maintenance, Technical Publications, and Training, but also ensure the integration of Return on Experience (REX) into the bid process.

Work location: Saint-Bruno (South Shore of Montréal)

Status : Permanent/full time (40h)

Hybrid : 3 days in office / 2 days remote

We’ll look to you for:

  • Costing ISR deliverables, including Maintenance, Technical Publications, Training, Special Tools, Spares, and Obsolescence

  • Performing Risk & Opportunities evaluations for each tender

  • Establishing strategies for ISR deliverables under TSSSA offers

  • Representing ISR in front of the bid team

  • Providing weekly progress reports on rolling stock and services projects to the ISR Director

  • Optimising the use of Best Cost Country (BCC) in bids

  • Ensuring feedback from maintenance projects is incorporated into future bids

  • Identifying technical risks and ensuring they are covered by a dedicated action plan

  • Supporting the Bid Manager during customer negotiations, identifying any technical changes during that phase

  • Defining technical solutions for design tenders such as Asset Life Management (ALM), promoting the use of Alstom standard solutions

  • Performing smooth transitions between tender phases and project execution

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Engineering degree, recognised engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical role, preferably in railway systems or application engineering

  • Knowledge of applicable Services business

  • Experience with Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Systems Applications and Products (SAP), and Business Intelligence/Business Objects (BI/BO)

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (knowledge of a third language is an asset)

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our dynamic and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning opportunities

  • Progress towards leadership roles or technical expert pathways

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
