Job description

Special Note: This is a temporary position of up to 12 weeks based on business and operational needs

This is an interview position.

To provide courteous and efficient pick-up and delivery of packages on an assigned route; to check all shipments for conformance to Federal Express Canada features of service; to provide related customer service functions

  • Provides efficient and safe delivery and pick-up of packages while representing the company in a professional manner and maintains a neat and clean appearance consistent with the company's public image
  • Accomplishes accurate and timely selection and inspection of assigned packages and the subsequent reporting of stop counts and missorts
  • Adheres to Courier Best Practices, operating procedures, loads van and plans route for efficient delivery and pick-up of packages and ensures proper security of Federal Express and customer property, such as packages, equipment and vehicles.
  • Seeks additional business from current customers. Informs sales department of sales leads and market changes.
  • Ensures that packages conform to Federal Express Canada features of service, that proper labelling is provided, and that all paperwork is neat, accurate and ensures customers have adequate supply of Federal Express shipping materials.
  • Operates computerized tracking and dispatch systems ensuring input of correct information
  • Answers customer's questions on Federal Express Canada's features of service and continually keeps customers informed about the company and its services as well as Canada, US and International requirements.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in features of service and equipment.
  • Operates vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with all government regulations and company procedures.
  • May perform aircraft and/or container loading/unloading and sorting and scanning of packages, as location and workload dictate.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Minimum Experience

  • None – No experience required
  • Customer Service – 1 year (preferred)
    • Customer orientation

Les candidats seront également évalués selon : 1) leur relevé annuel de conduite ; 2) leur performance en entrevue ; et 3) leurs résultats aux évaluations de conduite administrées.
