Data Engineer – Contract Role

Location: St. Louis, USA
Role Type: Contract

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure for enterprise analytics and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in big data technologies, ETL processes, cloud platforms, and database management.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in Python, SQL, and data engineering concepts
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration tools
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize scalable data pipelines and workflows
  • Design and maintain data architectures supporting analytics and business intelligence
  • Develop data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and governance standards
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues
  • Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • Knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
