North Star Window & Doors has a current opening for an Electrician to work within their Maintenance department. You will be partnered with a team of Millwrights and other Electricians to help support the daily activities associated with supporting a thriving Window and Door manufacturing facility. The position is responsible maintaining, installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to company initiatives. This position requires that the Electrician troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, but also engage as required on mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with plant equipment.
- Ensure work performed adheres to relevant safety regulations, codes and specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Answer break down calls, troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment.
- If required be prepared to lead, guide and teach apprentices and direct them to ensure successful task completion.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
Qualifications
- Licensed 309A or 442A journeyman. Apprentice will be considered if already ticketed in a secondary discipline.
- Good written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Good understanding of CMMS work orders systems.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Great attendance record.
- Fenestration industry experience a definite asset.
- 24/7 availability may be required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
- PPE required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Overtime as required.
- Hazards associated with the trade.
