Lakeridge Health currently has several exciting renovations, redevelopments and new construction projects planned throughout the next decade. These projects include Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment, currently in Stage 2 Planning; coupled with four major projects announced in August 2024 that include construction of a Post-Acute Care Facility in Pickering, New Hospital Construction in North Whitby, and redevelopment of the Oshawa and Ajax Pickering hospital sites.
Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the CFO and Health System Executive (HSE) Corporate and Support Services, the Chief Development Officer is responsible for providing corporate leadership and successfully executing the organization's ambitious construction, development, and building services projects. Within the Redevelopment portfolio, which includes planning and design, redevelopment, the Chief Development Officer provides senior strategic leadership and operational and planning oversight, and guarantees strategic alignment with Lakeridge Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Chief Development Officer harmonizes portfolio functions with the broader Lakeridge Health System to drive organizational integration, spearhead transformation, and attain long-term objectives driven by the Lakeridge Health vision of One System. The Chief Development Officer is a dynamic leader adept at navigating and playing a proactive role in shaping all levels of organizational change and establishing priorities. To achieve excellence in capital and facilities development, this role will bolster and forge collaborative relationships with partners and key internal / external stakeholders to enhance operational effectiveness and elevate the quality of care. The Chief Development Officer will ensure operating plan objectives, financial, performance and quality targets are met, offer continuous guidance to colleagues, and work in tandem with Senior Leadership and their teams to cultivate an atmosphere that upholds shared leadership, innovation, continuous improvement, and superior person-centered care.
Qualifications
- A minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in large, complex, health care and / or public sector / not-for-profit environments;
- An Engineering and Technical background and a Master's degree in a related field;
- A demonstrated ability to manage major capital development projects, network and engage with key stakeholders, while achieving objectives;
- Proven track record in building and leading high-performing teams, fostering inclusivity, and recognizing the importance of diversity within our communities;
- Strong ability to create a performance-oriented culture, demonstrating exceptional political insight, sound judgment, and excellent communication and negotiation skills;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;
- Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area.
