Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) is strengthening how technology, data, and digital capabilities support its mandate in a complex and evolving agricultural risk environment. We are seeking a Vice President, Information Technology to provide enterprise-wide leadership at a pivotal time. While SCIC continues to advance modernization initiatives, this role is fundamentally about leadership, ensuring technology consistently delivers value through secure, reliable, and well-governed systems aligned with business priorities.
As VP, IT, you will lead the evolution of SCIC’s technology landscape - advancing cybersecurity, enhancing data and analytics capabilities, and supporting effective decision-making across the organization. You will balance innovation with operational stability, governance, and risk management, while building strong partnerships with business leaders, government stakeholders, and service providers. As a member of the Senior Executive Management Team, you will contribute to enterprise priorities and lead initiatives that strengthen how SCIC operates today and into the future.
What you'll do:
This position is located in our Head Office location in Melville, Saskatchewan. Consideration may be given to hybrid work arrangements within Saskatchewan. If approved for hybrid work, you will be required to work in the office at least three days per week. This includes attending onsite divisional meetings, training sessions, employee engagement and team collaboration activities, as well as corporate meetings and events.
- Champion enterprise-wide change and strategic technology planning, guiding the organization through transformation with clarity, purpose and confidence.
- Lead the development and execution of SCIC’s IT and digital strategy, aligning technology with organizational priorities and long-term goals.
- Lead enterprise IT strategy, architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and service delivery to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable operations aligned with business priorities.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish clear objectives, performance measures, and disciplined operating practices across IT services.
- Strengthen IT governance, policies, and standards to meet evolving business, regulatory, and security requirements.
- Lead cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning to protect information assets and ensure organizational resilience.
- Advance data as a strategic asset through strong governance, analytics, and information management practices.
- Manage strategic relationships with vendors, government partners, and service providers.
- Contribute as a key member of the Senior Executive Management Team to enterprise leadership and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- To be successful in this position you will need a degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, or a related field, supplemented with a minimum of ten years’ senior leadership experience, preferably in IT. We recognize the value of a blend of education and hands-on experience and would consider the right candidate with a combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading large, complex IT functions, preferably in public sector or highly governance‑driven environment.
- Proven ability to develop and execute long‑term IT and digital strategies aligned with organizational goals, business priorities and risk management frameworks.
- Strong people leadership experience, including building, mentoring and sustaining high‑performing technical and professional teams.
- Demonstrated financial acumen, including IT budget development, capital planning, cost optimization and value realization.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts and service level agreements to ensure performance and accountability.
- Strong strategic, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to balance innovation, operational stability and risk.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and accountability, with a collaborative leadership style that fosters trust across the organization.
