Your Key Responsibilities
As the Construction Manager you will lead teams of dedicated professionals and technicians.
Oversight, supervision and coaching of the site inspector(s) for assigned projects and administration of the construction contract.
Observing and reviewing projects during construction, monitoring conformance with plans, specifications, and other codes and regulations.
Monitoring the progress of construction activities, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality standards are met.
Reviews requests for payment draws from contractors and prepares payment certifications to the project owner in a timely manner.
Communicates with and makes recommendations to the Project Manager, Client and design team to resolve site issues.
Lead commissioning activities on water and wastewater treatment projects.
You mentor and guide junior staff and site inspectors on construction and commissioning activities.
You are responsible for Contract Administration that include, among others, submittal review as applicable, RFI, RFQ, Site Instructions, Change directives, Change Orders, Review of quotes
Lead and manage the construction of projects
You develop construction management plans for projects and establish goals and objectives for unique and complex projects.
You are responsible for successfully establishing projects to achieve budget, schedule, and contractual obligations.
You conduct and/or coordinate quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects and facilitate independent technical review projects by others.
You research and understand issues related to regulatory and other drivers that impact individual projects
Participate in proposals, including the development of the construction management scope and level of effort of comparable size.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
You inspire project teams to higher levels of achievement.
Ability to review and coordinate designs and studies
Understanding local and regional jurisdictional codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
Education and Experience
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field
Experience: Minimum of 15 years related experience in construction management, preferably for water and/or wastewater facility projects, including construction oversight.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng), preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
Demonstrated successful experience in leadership, including defining and setting the direction for a team and project,
Travel to other offices as well as project sites will be required.
Due to the nature of construction, working outside business or during the weekend might be required

Pay Range:
• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland -- BC & Various locations in Ontario-$106,700.00 - $156,700.00 Annually
• Locations in Lower Mainland -- BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$114,600.00 - $164,600.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
