Assistant Professor and / or Associate Professor in Computer Engineering
The School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus invites applications to fill two (2) full-time tenure-stream positions within its Computer Engineering Program.
Applicants will be considered for the ranks of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) and / or Associate Professor (tenure-track or tenured), with research and teaching expertise including (but not limited to) areas of autonomous systems and robotics, computer architecture and embedded systems, quantum computing, virtualization and cloud computing, and related fields. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026 or a date to be mutually agreed upon.
Decisions for hiring will be based upon applicants' potential and / or evidence towards excellence in research and teaching, to the benefit of Canada and the global community, as well as their fit to the School's Computer Engineering Program. We look to shape leaders for the future of this program and its profession.

Eligibility and duties
Applicants must hold a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in a field related to Computer Engineering and either be registered, or be eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia () within three years of appointment. Successful applicants will be expected to show a strong record of research productivity (commensurate with their experience); demonstrate the ability to fund and operate a successful research program; and ultimately develop an innovative and internationally recognized research program, teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise master's (M.A.Sc.) and doctoral (Ph.D.) students, and provide service to the School, University, and community.
Appointment eligibility at each rank is defined as follows :
- Assistant Professor : The successful applicant will have demonstrated evidence of ability in teaching and scholarly activity. The teaching must show potential for excellence in both instructing and supervising undergraduate and graduate students. The scholarly activity must show potential towards securing competitive (external) research funding; potential for carrying out high-impact (national and international) research; and potential for disseminating such research via peer-reviewed publications and / or alternative forms of knowledge dissemination. The successful applicant must also show a willingness to participate in the affairs of the School and University. Applicants who will have successfully defended their doctoral (Ph.D.) dissertation by the position start date will be considered. The annual salary range is $115,000 - $140,000.
- Associate Professor : The successful applicant will have demonstrated success in teaching, a growing body of productive scholarly activity, and willingness to participate in the affairs of the School and University. The teaching must reflect a high level of excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels as well as effective supervision and mentorship of graduate students. The scholarly activity must show evidence towards securing competitive (external) research funding; carrying out high-impact (national and international) research; and disseminating such research via peer-reviewed publications and / or alternative forms of knowledge dissemination. For tenure consideration, the successful candidate must also have maintained a high standard of performance in meeting the above criteria and show promise of continuing to do so. The annual salary range is $160,000 - $200,000.
