We are seeking an HR Director to join a long‑established, family‑run Canadian organization operating across construction, development, and industrial services.This is not a traditional corporate HR job. You will build trust, uplift morale, modernize HR practices, and act as a strategic advisor to leadership, all while staying closely connected to people on the ground.People & Culture Leader

shape culture, strengthen performance, and elevate the employee experience

- Own and elevate the end‑to‑end employee experience.
- Build a high‑trust, accountable, people‑first culture.
- Coach leaders on performance, feedback, and team development.
- Lead recruitment through generational change and future growth.
- Strengthen hiring to focus on impact, fit, and long‑term potential.
- Bring structure to performance reviews, development, and succession.
- Simplify and standardize HR processes where they add real value.
- Partner with Finance on payroll and leverage Dayforce for insight and efficiency.
- Stay visible and present in the field — this role is not desk‑bound.
- Full‑cycle HR experience in a small‑to‑mid‑size or standalone environment.
- Experience in construction, real estate, or operational industries is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to build HR foundations without overengineering.
- Strong culture‑building, engagement, and change leadership skills.
- Required: hands‑on Dayforce experience and solid Microsoft 365 skills.
- Solution‑oriented. Practical. Curious.
- A “gentle builder” — firm but human, business‑minded but empathetic.
- Willing to roll up your sleeves and meet people where they work.
- Rely heavily on rigid processes, policies, or theoretical HR models.
- Prefer narrow scope, strict structure, or indirect leadership.
