Job description

Why BCAA?

Feel proud of what you do and help shape the future of BC at a BC Top Employer. We’re driven by purpose – delivering peace of mind to one in three BC households with insurance, roadside assistance, auto repair, Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share. With a long history of keeping roads safe and giving back in ways that build stronger communities, we offer a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding careers that move BC forward.

We are currently hiring an Evolve Fleet Support team member to join our Evolve team in Southern Vancouver Island Region.

As part of the Evolve Fleet Support Services team, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring our fleet of shared e-bikes and e-scooters are safe, charged, clean, and in top condition for our Members. You’ll relocate fleet vehicles, swap batteries, troubleshoot issues, and maintain both field assets and warehouse inventory. Whether on the road or in the warehouse, you’ll help power the success of our shared mobility services and contribute to an excellent Member experience.

You’ll also support special projects and Evo Car Share operations as needed, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Who you are:

  • You’re physically active and enjoy working outdoors across a variety of locations.

  • You’re detail-oriented and take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and functional vehicles and equipment.

  • You’re customer-focused and represent BCAA and Evolve with professionalism in every interaction.

  • You’re reliable, organized, and thrive in team settings with shifting priorities.

  • You’re comfortable with hands-on tasks, tech troubleshooting, and working independently when needed.

What you’ll do:

  • Relocate e-bikes and e-scooters to and from designated parking zones, staging areas, or maintenance locations.

  • Inspect devices and helmets for damage, malfunctions, and cleanliness before and after repositioning.

  • Clean fleet vehicles and infrastructure, removing visible dirt and debris from e-bikes, e-scooters, helmets, and signage.

  • Perform battery swaps on devices and ensure chargers are connected correctly within the workspace.

  • Replace worn-out helmets and equipment in the field.

  • Plug in and monitor charging of batteries at designated facilities.

  • Provide friendly and helpful customer support to Members during field interactions.

  • Troubleshoot common issues such as device connectivity, GPS errors, or IoT problems.

  • Receive and manage warehouse inventory including parts and supplies.

  • Prepare and stage fleet units for deployment according to operating procedures.

  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.

  • Monitor daily and weekly reports, and adjust work plans to meet performance targets.

  • Track and manage fleet and parts inventory, submitting requests when stock is low.

  • Identify operational challenges and suggest improvements to your Operations Manager.

  • Support Evo Car Share fleet operations as needed.

  • Participate in special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Represent BCAA and Evolve with professionalism in all public-facing interactions.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, mechanical operations, or automotive-related work.

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and Members in both verbal and written form.

  • Comfortable working independently and managing day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Strong time management and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments.

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with CRM tools is an asset.

  • Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions, walk or stand for extended periods, and lift/carry items exceeding 70 lbs.

  • Comfortable moving, rolling, and stabilizing e-bikes and e-scooters (some weighing over 90 lbs).

  • Comfortable riding (or learning to ride) e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes.

  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours when required.

  • Willingness to work in warehouse and outdoor environments, including exposure to vehicle fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures.
