Description
Observation, reflection, and practice teaching in the primary / junior division classrooms as identified by the regulations of the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Ontario College of Teachers;
associate teacher provides mentoring and feedback as well as formative and summative evaluations of teacher candidates.
Additional Comments- Supervision of practicum is required in all four school boards in the Ottawa / Carleton and Eastern Ontario area.
Faculty Supervisor (PED 3220 professor) provides support to associate teachers and teacher candidates. Facilitation of discussion groups delivered in a team teaching format on alternating weeks Tuesdays 10 : 00-11 : 20 am (clearly identified in PED 3220 Course Syllabus).

Requirements :
Masters degree in education; Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario; Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level;
Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers.
The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
