The Human Resources (HR) department (team of 45) at BCI serves as a strategic business partner, providing HR leadership and acting as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters.

The HR Business Partnership (BP) team is comprised of 10 individuals who are responsible for the delivery, in collaboration with the extended HR team, of BCI’s people strategies and programs to all internal stakeholders.

The team acts as the primary contact between HR and BCI’s employees.

As part of BCI’s continued growth, an opportunity now exists for a talented, business-focused HR leader to join the organization as a Senior HRBP supporting the Public Markets and Investment Strategy, Risk & Growth departments.

The Public Markets group comprises of diverse teams investing in a broad range of public and fixed income investment strategies collectively managing $147B in assets.

The Investment Strategy & Risk department plays a key role in setting, implementing and monitoring BCI’s clients’ long-term strategies.

As a key member of the HR leadership team and overseeing a small team of 2, the Senior HRBP provides strategic HR leadership and advice and is a key contributor to deploying, growing and supporting innovative, practical and business-focused talent initiatives and activities covering all aspects of organizational growth, culture and talent.

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR leader with strong generalist knowledge and experience partnering closely with the business in a dynamic, sophisticated growth-oriented environment.

Investment management or capital markets experience is a strong preference. Highly strategic, analytical and practical, the Sr.

HRBP must be able to quickly establish credibility with the teams and combine talent management expertise with effective business insights to be seen as a true trusted advisor.

Based in BCI’s office in Victoria, BC, this is a fantastic opportunity to take on a highly influential and strategic HR role with a dynamic, world-class organization and culture.

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.

The annualized base salary range for this role based in Victoria is CAD $144,000-$170,000.

The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure.

We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and expertise.
