13 weeks Afternoons8hr shift 40hrs guaranteed weekly

• Under the direction of the SpecimenProcessing Supervisor the Clinical Lab Assistant performsphlebotomy using various venipuncture techniques to collect blooddirectly from patients of all ages and is familiar with patient andspecimen requirements for these tests;
• completes a variety ofclinical support duties involved in identifying collectingreceiving and processing all types of clinical specimens forlaboratory analysis including preparation for transport to outsidelaboratories;

follows all safety infection control and OSHA BloodBorne Pathogen guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtains and processes venous and capillaryblood samples required for laboratory analysis frompatients
• of all ages upon request.
• Processes clinical specimens for delivery to laboratorydepartments and pickup by reference
• laboratories.
• Performs all dutieswithin assigned work blocks.
• Demonstratescompliance with corporate departmental and jobspecificrequirements.
• Assists in the preventativemaintenance and disinfection within the Specimen Processingarea.
• Travels to offsite locations forphlebotomy collections.
• Performs other dutiesas assigned.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION

Experience :

• Must have at least oneyear of Phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting and clinicalsupport experience in specimen processing.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills able to relate wellwith clients professionally and compassionately able to multitaskand work in a fastpaced environment.
• Theability to perform in emergent or crises is required

Education : High school orequivalent (GED).

CertificationRegistration and Licensure : n / a

EMR System : Cerner experiencepreferred

Shift : 1 pm 9 : 30 pmMonday Friday and every other weekend
