POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager, Infrastructure Services, leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services.

He / she ensures that systems meet performance, availability, and security requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides strategic direction and oversight for the full life cycle of IT infrastructure systems, working in close partnership with peers, and identifies where shared platforms provided by the infrastructure team could drive efficiency.
  • Oversees the design and implementation of all company-wide infrastructure projects, estimating the business needs and evaluating the current infrastructure’s ability to meet those needs.
  • Is responsible for and manages the day-to-day operations of infrastructure services.
  • Continually reviews the effectiveness of IT delivery and seeks to optimize the value of IT service management (ITSM)
  • Ensures that all on-premises and cloud infrastructure services are fully operational, optimized, and follow implementation and operational standards.
  • Leads cloud adoption, including establishing governance mechanisms, delivering migration projects and modifying infrastructure target operating model.
  • Develops governance practices to track and measure the quality of services and maintain service improvement plans.
  • Oversees third-party management, working closely with sourcing and vendor managers.
  • Is recognized as the corporate infrastructure expert and collaborates with internal and external partners to provide coherent organizational standards and best practices.
  • Leads the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement.
  • Collaborates with the Director, Cybersecurity, to ensure infrastructure team contributes to, embraces, and applies security strategy.
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of policies, standard procedures and documentation on all matters concerning infrastructure security.
  • Assesses and optimizes the on-premises and cloud infrastructure to formulate recommendations for cost / performance.
  • Develops, directs, coaches, mentors, and reinforces team members in line with the mission, values, objectives, and performance standards of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC

  • University education in business administration, information systems or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • IT related certifications and / or Project Management and / or ITIL certification are an asset.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in IT with specific experience leading Infrastructure and Operations with delivery of a portfolio of concurrent projects in an IT environment undergoing evolution and transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience transforming IT processes and improving overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Solid experience in partnering with business operations, ideally in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing a team of IT specialists and / or project managers.
  • Experience with external vendors, contract negotiation and management of outsourced or managed IT services in collaboration with internal procurement.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead projects, and to drive improvement initiatives and strategy implementation.
  • An excellent ability to build collaborative relationships across multiple teams, including at the business executive level and within the overall IT team.
  • Comprehensive experience in deploying new technologies and related change management strategies.
  • Solution-driven with a strong customer focus, results-oriented and able to adapt quickly to changes in business plans and priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills with a strong record of coaching and mentoring a team.
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills and demonstrated success in driving complex strategies and projects.
  • Exceptional organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple agendas.
  • Ability to bridge the language gap between technology and the business unit, communicating and presenting this information effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills combined.
