Civil Design Engineer
Heavy Civil Engineering, Water / Sewer Construction

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable Design Firm based in Toronto, Ontario. Our client is well established within the Toronto market, recognized for community contributions and well reputed all who have had the pleasure of working with them.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- The ideal candidate will have a track record of design delivery for multi-discipline projects specifically, complex civil and facility projects
- Work closely with Business Lead and Managers, Project Directors with a focus on earthworks, landfills, solid waste, and site remediation design
- Coordinate all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design
- Develop or verify the technical scope of a project
- Complete civil designs following the budget and schedule
- Participate in design coordination meetings and address critical issues
- Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to civil design,
- Ensure the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project
- Ensure quality control processes are being followed
- Mentor and develop junior staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree in civil engineering. Possess EIT / P. Eng in Ontario
- Minimum of 5 years of extensive technical design experience, 10 years of experience in Civil Construction
- Demonstrable experience in Civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects with a focus on earthworks, site remediation, solid waste, and renewable energy.
- Experience working in a Design-Build environment is considered an asset
- Exceptional communication skills and good industry exposure
- Demonstrated understanding and proficiency in bid take-off software
- Demonstrated understanding of bid / tender requirements
- Risk identification and mitigation
