General Labour (Production Assembler)
Title : General Production Assembler
Reports to : Production Supervisor
Our client is looking for a General Production Assembler to assemble and quality test reliable heat exchangers for our automotive and off-highway recreation vehicle customers.
Main Responsibilities :
- Remove component parts from bins and build parts using press equipment, make standard adjustments to equipment based on quality and production requirements.
- Sets-up or does changeovers on all assignments included in the job rotation. Assemble component parts into heat exchanger according to standard work instructions;
prepares the assembled product for brazing.
- Load brazing furnaces on a continuous production schedule and according to standard product orientation.
- Unload brazing furnaces and prepare product for quality testing.
- Perform quality test and checks (example SPC), isolating product and notify Supervisor of product that does not meet standards, make adjustments to tooling for quality.
- Apply value-added components, such as fans, shrouds and / or hoses.
- Pack finished product.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety, environmental and housekeeping standards as required.
- Maintain or exceed production and quality standards and / or requirements.
- Assist with training transfers or new employees in GP assignments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Secondary School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in light-assembly manufacturing.
- Experience with Safety requirements or procedures in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement concepts and programs (e.g. 5-S).
- Ability to read standard Work Instructions, Safety Instructions and Quality records.
- Some computer knowledge. Arithmetic, and measurement skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Reliable Attendance Record.
- Performs all job duties within a regular job rotation schedule.
- Must be able to use tools such as : Allen Keys, Wrenches / Screwdrivers, Calculator, Air tools, Material Handling equipment (hand cart, powered lift cart)
