Job Summary
The role of Expert UX / UI Design is responsible to produce creative user-centric experiences and application interfaces for a variety of business objectives.
Their role is to understand user pain points and areas of concern to match people's needs with what is technologically feasible to provide maximum business and user values.
They play a key role in enabling user / technology adoption, improving user engagement and trust in the application. Their mandate is to maintain and evolve CN's User Experience practice, taking into account industry standards and practices leading toward interactive design and Design Thinking.
Main Responsibilities
Understand
Empathize
- Perform user research using various methods to understand user pain points, areas of concerns or frustration
- Conduct user workshops and stakeholder interview to discover range of opportunities for experience improvement
- Consolidate user insights through personas and experience journey maps modeling
Define
- Collaborate with application designers, business groups, and architects to determine business objectives and purpose for the proposed application
- Facilitate client vision leading user experience workshops to determine target audiences, user needs, data requirements and compile them into user flows, storyboards and information architectures
Design
Ideate
- Understand business rules, user-system interaction, data models and flows, to ideate and translate concept to begin laying out interfaces (wireframes)
- Understand and work with various technologies to determine the appropriate framework to produce the application
- Propose experience concepts which pioneer usability for audiences, organizing the interface with data appropriate for all users
Prototype
- Define / Affine product's art direction
- Produce High-Fidelity mockups, prototypes and interaction / behaviour specification
- Improve proposed model through usability testing and other user feedback gathering methods
- Define interaction patterns and components as well as envision intuitive, useful and engaging user experience design
Document
- Contribute to CN Design System development, maintenance and sensitization
- Annotate design in regard to state variations, UI behaviour, edge cases, etc.
Test & Materialize
- Collaborate with developers to support the implementation of design recommendations
- Drive usability testing with the business and adjust product to improve user experience
- Monitor actual user behaviors through analytics reports and tools to identify potential optimizations
Govern
- Govern and provide leadership for all UX / UI design and development at CN
- Stay up to date with domain methodologies, best practices and trends to provide guidance and education to team members and stakeholders
- Collaborate in the elaboration of long-term vision to move forward CN's interaction design and design thinking practices
Requirements
Education / Certification / Designation
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Computer sciences with a focus User Experience Design, or equivalent degree and work experience
Skills / Knowledge
- Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, process and user flows (similar to Data Flow diagrams) and site maps
- Solid understanding and experience with web and mobile technologies as well as with common Front-End Frameworks logic (such as AngularJS, React, KendoUI, PrimeFaces, etc.)
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards
- Proficiency with visual design and wireframing tools such as Sketch and Figma
- Proficiency with prototyping tools
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user and system interactions
- Ability to define and document product art direction
- Ability to perform / support customer research and user testing activities
- Ability to present designs and sell solutions to various stakeholders
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Up-to-date with the latest UX / UI trends, techniques, and technologies
- Experience working in an Agile / DevOps development processes
- Strong systematic mindset; ability to think in terms of systems and ecosystems (components scalability, responsive design, synergy between products, etc.)
- Ability to be organized and detail oriented; ability to handle multiple UI-leading initiatives and provide visibility when required
