Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our staffing practice has an opening for an AV Technical Writer with experience creating documentation for a variety of meeting room technologies-including SRDs, use cases, and user guides place at our client, a top Canadian Bank

Client : A top Canadian Bank

Terms : 6 months contract to start

Location Hybrid : 1-2 days onsite- Downtown

Project : Building out the new tower / building (infrastructure, network, AV, etc)

Must-have requirements :

• Networking / AV (Audio / Visual) / Service Hub / Active Directory / password authentication
• Experience writing user-friendly documentation for a variety of meeting room collaboration technologies, including SRDs, use cases, and user guides
• Teams heavy; O365 low to medium

About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and document a variety of meeting room collaboration technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating user-friendly documentation for a complex range of technologies used in meeting rooms, from simple setups to large video walls.

You will work closely with AV engineers to understand the systems and how they work together, and then create documentation that is clear, concise, and easy for users to understand.

Responsibilities

• Write user-friendly documentation for a variety of meeting room collaboration technologies, including SRDs, use cases, and user guides
• Develop solutions requirement documents (SRDs) for all meeting rooms
• Collaborate with AV engineers to understand the technical details of the systems
• Create clear and concise documentation that meets the needs of the target audience
• Maintain and update existing documentation as needed
• Stay up-to-date on the latest meeting room collaboration technologies

Qualifications

• Experience writing technical documentation
• Strong understanding of audio / visual (AV) technologies
• Ability to write clearly and concisely for a variety of audiences
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Bonus Points

• Experience with meeting room collaboration technologies
• Experience with writing SRDs
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

Additional Information

• The successful candidate will not be required to configure the meeting room collaboration technologies, but they will need to understand how the systems work together.
• The candidate will need to be familiar with a variety of AV technologies, including networking, service hubs, Active Directory, and password authentication.
• The candidate will also need to be familiar with Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools.

Interview Process : Minimum of 1 interview, maximum 2 interviews that are half an hour in length with the hiring manager and flow manager.

Focusing on technical and design background as well as a sense of team fit.
