Reporting to the COO, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function.

This role will provide strategic leadership by articulating HR needs as a member of the senior leadership team. The Human Resources Manager ensures the HR function is running smoothly and aligns with the company’s business goals.

What will you be doing :

Strategic HR Leadership :

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Act as a strategic member of the senior leadership team, providing insights and recommendations on HR-related matters.
  • Lead the development and implementation of HR programs, policies, and procedures.

Talent Management :

  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent.
  • Implement effective onboarding, training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
  • Develop succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity.

Performance Management :

  • Maintain the performance appraisal systems that helps drive high performance.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance management issues.
  • Coach employees to help them achieve their highest potential.

HR Operations :

  • Lead the daily operations of the HR function, payroll, time and attendance system and employee records.
  • Assist in managing the HR budget and optimize resources to achieve organizational goals.

Compensation and Benefits :

  • Collaborate to design and administer the compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and ensure the company’s compensation structure is competitive.
  • Manage relationships with external benefits providers.

Employee Relations and Engagement :

  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment that aligns with the company’s culture and values.
  • Address employee relations issues and provide counsel to managers on employee conflicts, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Implement employee engagement surveys and action plans based on feedback (i.e. Monthly Leadership Breakfasts, Recognition Programs, coordination of all events)

Compliance and Health and Safety :

  • Ensure compliance with all provincial employment laws and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR legal trends and best practices.
  • Oversee all health and safety initiatives to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.

What qualifications do you need?

Bachelor’s degree majoring in human resources or a post graduate certificate in Human Resources Management CHRP or CHRL designation is a definite asset Health and Safety certification or equivalent experience leading a health and safety program What skills are important that you have?

Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead the human resource function
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • High Proficiency in HR software (Ceridian Dayforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
