Summary
The Production Supervisor, under the direction of the Operations Lead, will primarily be responsible to ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
This position will ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal.
This role will also oversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standards.

Job Duties
Supervisors in fiberglass products manufacturing supervise and coordinate the activities of workers who operate processing machines and who fabricate, assemble and inspect fibreglass products.
They are employed by fiberglass products manufacturing companies
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of production workers who operate processing machines and who fabricate, assemble, finish or inspect fiberglass parts and products
- Have technical expertise in fiberglass manufacturing in order to problem solve and initiate process improvements
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Requisition materials and supplies
- Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Recommend personnel actions such as corrective actions, hirings and promotions
- Prepare production and other reports
- May set up machines and equipment.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll and monthly inventory.
- Administer disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures
- Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement
- Approve vacation requests and monitor vacation schedules to ensure appropriate coverage
- Celebrate successes and foster an atmosphere of success
- Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Plan and conduct meetings with employees to communicate team targets, goals, and projects
- Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal
- Oversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standards

- Ensure that all staff under your direction are equipped with and are using the proper personal protective equipment
- Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly
- Oversee compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
- Oversee all workmanship to ensure high standards and efficiency
- Oversee departmental outputs, ensuring they meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs
- Oversee all manufacturing and processing procedures, the setting of machine or equipment controls, as well as the production and inspection processes
Job Requirements
- Minimum four years of experience in the manufacturing of fiberglass components
- Available to work the day shift from 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm and occasional afternoon shift from 2 : 00pm to 10 : 30pm
- Possess a hands-on leadership style
- Mechanically competent including robotic equipment
- Relevant post-secondary education preferably a technical degree
- Certification in Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Possess a forklift license with at least 1 year experience
- Certification in TDG’s considered a plus
- Working knowledge of the safe handling, storage, and usage of fiberglass chemicals
- Available to be contacted after hours as required
- Available to work occasional overtime including weekends
- Strong formal and informal leadership skills
- Five years of experience in a management role within a manufacturing setting
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve and exceed their goals
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations
- Ability to motivate self and others
- Proven experience in systematic problem solving
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
