ECO220Y1Y Introduction to Data Analysis and Applied Econometrics (Section LEC0501)

Course Description :

Numerical and graphical data description; data collection and sampling; probability; sampling distributions; statistical inference;

hypothesis testing and estimation; simple and multiple regression analysis (extensive coverage). Learn how to analyze data and how to correctly interpret and explain results.

Use Excel to analyze a wide variety of data and replicate tables and figures in economics research papers.

Estimated course enrolment : 175

Estimated TA support : 490 hours (contingent upon enrolment and funding)

Class Schedule : Thursday 11 : 00-13 : 00; Friday 11 : 00-13 : 00

$10,570.02 Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications :

  • PhD in Economics
  • Prior experience teaching this course (or a similar course) at the university level
  • Ability and experience teaching large classes

Preferred qualifications :

Demonstrated excellence in teaching over four or more years

Description of duties :

  • Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course
  • Supervision of teaching assistant(s) assigned to course
  • Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations
  • Providing scheduled office hours for academic counseling of students
