We're now on the lookout for a talented HR Generalist to join our Toronto team! This position will play a crucial part in embedding proSapient's culture while establishing a first-class people experience for all employees in the Toronto office.

Working closely and as part of our Global People team, you will be the first point of contact for all People related queries and initiatives in your office, partnering closely with local stakeholders, managers, and employees to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment that aligns with our values while also promoting employee engagement and productivity.

Our Toronto office is at an exciting time in their journey, and this role will play a pivotal part in its growth and expansion.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in establishing bullet- proof processes, who is confident in compliance and policy, yet is able to think outside of the box, being solutions driven, a great relationship-builder, commercially minded, people focused and above all, excited about the challenge of co-building something truly special!

As this is currently a stand-alone role in Toronto, we are looking for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and wear many hats- primarily, supporting office management and events coordination, but willing to step in to support their office with what may be needed at any given time.

Key duties in this role will include :

People :

Serve as the primary People point of contact for Toronto, Ontario, providing consistent and proactive support and advice on a range of issues and queries for the business, current employees and new joiners.

This will range from day-to-day procedural queries to employee relations matters, escalating when necessary to the Head of People.

  • Work in partnership with the Senior People Partner in Raleigh, NC on rolling out People Initiatives, employee onboarding, training and other business initiatives as needed
  • Create scalable and sustainable people infrastructure and practices which enables high performing teams to achieve great results.
  • Ensure the smooth execution of key People processes which support the business including onboarding, wellbeing, promotion, performance management and progression.
  • Support managers effectively, ensuring all team members have regular feedback and adherence to the performance review processes including setting of business and personal objectives.
  • Regularly seek feedback from employees and use this to help drive People improvements across the business.
  • Ensure our new starters are kept engaged after an offer is accepted all the way through to their start date. This will include producing or approving contracts of employment, IT Helpdesk tickets and running various pre-employment checks.
  • Act as the point of contact throughout our new joiner’s onboarding, working closely with various stakeholders to organize, develop and execute our onboarding program.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures that are compliant with local employment laws and regulations.
  • Partner with the Head of People and Legal team to ensure that all HR-related documentation is accurate and up to date for the Toronto office
  • Act as a superuser on our HRIS (Rippling) to ensure all employee information is accurate and correctly recorded.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the stakeholders you frequently collaborate with across the business, including IT, Finance, Business Operations, Project Excellence, Talent, Office Management and Client Service teams.
  • Act as first point of contact for all payroll, compensation, and benefit queries at a local level.
  • Manage the probationary period process for all local employees, using 15Five to set performance cycles; manage passes, extensions and fails and send outcome documentation.
  • In partnership with the Wider people team, research valid and appropriate benefits, engagement and recognition programs and make recommendations for change.
  • Partner with the wider People team, to support our various People initiatives and projects including L&D, performance management, employee engagement and more!
  • All other duties as and when required.

Operations :

  • Research and ensure the office adheres to all local health and safety guidelines.
  • Regularly review and update safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate safety training sessions for staff.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the office to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Maintain office equipment and arrange for repairs or replacements when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure all new joiners have proper tech setup.
  • Prepare workstations with necessary equipment and supplies for new employees.
  • Conduct office orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Coordinate office lunches and events, including planning and execution.
  • Maintain office tidiness and organization.
  • Arrange for cleaning services and manage relationships with external vendors.
  • Assist with office relocations or internal moves as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for smooth transitions during office moves.

Key previous experience needed for this role includes :

  • Minimum of 3 years sound experience in a core HR or People role, supporting a varied group of stakeholders and employees
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent Required
  • Experience working in a start-up or scaling businesses or departments is preferred for this role
  • Sound knowledge of Canadian / specifically Ontario employment law, policies, regulations and compensation.
