Position :

National Business Development Manager, Loblaws / Shoppers Drug Mart

Overview :

The National Business Manager is responsible for the overall direction and execution of the sales process for Loblaws / Shoppers Drug Mart on assigned brands, ensuring that all Church & Dwight Canada’s goals and objectives are being achieved, while managing customer revenue and profit expectations.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement annual business plans to achieve sales, share and profit goals and priorities consistent with C&D brand and corporate strategies
  • Develop and sustain cross-functional working partnership with Loblaws / Shoppers Drug Mart to ensure best-in-class partnership
  • Work collaboratively with Customer, Team Lead, Sales Analyst, Broker Partner, Sales Director, Customer Strategic Planning, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and other internal stakeholders, to identify, develop and execute joint business plans
  • Achieve strategic execution targets for assigned C&D brands, with emphasis on maximizing product volume and margin contribution
  • Responsible for overall financial management of Trade Spend, Deductions, Markdowns and Slotting budgets
  • Coordinate and communicate all relevant account program information for retail sales team support with Broker Partners (merchandising, pricing, distribution, pricing, planograms)
  • Report on all customer-specific competitive and required information on a weekly / quarterly basis
  • Provide forecast information to the demand planning team through ongoing Shipment, Inventory and POS analysis to deliver forecasting KPI’s
  • Provide the thought leadership, development, and execution of joint business plans relative to assigned categories
  • Leverage insights to influence customer category strategy and decision-making

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have a minimum 4 years of CPG sales experience, preferably with Shoppers Drug Mart
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Syndicated POS Data
  • Strong strategic negotiation skills and influence-based selling skills (GAP training and / or PVA negotiation experience are an asset)
  • Solid communication and presentation skills (JBP experience is preferred)
  • Experience managing portfolio at both gross and net sales levels an asset
  • Proven ability to transform shopper insights and data (i.e. Nielsen) into actionable, customer-relevant plans
  • LDIA / Loblaw Vendor Portal experience is preferred
