Mercer Canada is seeking a Senior Sustainable Investment Consultant for our Sustainable Investment team in Canada.

- Based in Canada, reporting to the Sustainable Investment Leader, Canada, you will support the growth of our market in Canada, working with existing clients and prospects, delivering consulting advice, conducting, and applying sustainable investment research.
- You will be part of a global network of experts dedicated to helping our clients achieve their sustainable investment goals, as well as advancing the state of industry practice across themes including, but not limited to : Sustainable investment governance, climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and impact investing.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders from various lines of business and functions (advisory, OCIO, research, proposals, marketing, and colleagues in other practices and Marsh McLennan businesses).

We will count on you to :
- Deliver consulting advice, conduct, review, and interpret quantitative and qualitative ESG and sustainable investment analysis across the whole investment life cycle, and present information and analysis to clients and prospects.
- Be the primary contact for a number of clients. Lead client presentations, actively participate in investment committee and Board meetings including preparing reports, developing insights, and proposing recommendations.
- Develop Sustainable Investment intellectual capital, interpret global sustainable investment research for the local market, and contribute to sustainable investment research.
- Develop relationships to support the commercial success and expansion of Mercer’s services through meeting with clients and prospects to uncover their challenges and priorities, preparing and presenting proposals, applying Mercer’s research, and speaking at events.
- Contribute to internal and external marketing activities, collaborating with colleagues in Mercer Wealth and across Mercer lines of practice to provide Sustainable Investment education, and share information about the SI team’s expertise at webinars, conferences, and events.
- Apply your understanding of industry and regulatory developments across sustainability, climate change, net zero carbon emissions targets and strategies, diversity, equity, and inclusion, impact investing, reconciliation, stewardship, and other evolving areas.
What you need to have :
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in management consulting, investment consulting, investment management, sustainable investment, or other professional advisory services preferred.
- Aptitude for inquiry and asking questions, identifying challenges or priorities, and problem solving.
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively as part of a small, cross-functional team through a strong sense of initiative and ability to share relevant information and expertise.
- Technical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and pride in producing high quality work products.
- A growth mindset, willingness to contribute perspectives and balance those with views formed on a collective basis.
- Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and manage time and resources, striking a balance between resourcefully finding solutions, asking questions, and seeking help.

What makes you stand out :
- Experience in or strong knowledge of climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion, impact investment or other themes from the perspective of how they could impact institutional investors
- Progress towards CFA Charterholder or other investment professional designations
- Experience with Dynamics Sales or comparable CRM is helpful
- Bilingual English / French speaking and writing skills
