CCSS is looking for a Temporary, Full-Time Grade 7-12 PE teacher. Calgary Christian School is a community, called and dedicated to integrate faith and learning, reaching for excellence in equipping responsive citizens of God’s Kingdom through Christ-centered educational environment.

Responsibilities :
Establishes clear objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of Alberta Education, and communicates these objectives to students.
Prepares for assigned classes, and demonstrates written evidence of preparation upon request. Prepares materials for learning, and classrooms for activities, as appropriate.
Instructs using a variety of instructional approaches appropriate for grade level, student needs and program focus. Plans and conducts activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
Observes and evaluates students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Prepares, administers, and grades a variety of student evaluative tools such as projects, tests, assignments in order to evaluate students' progress.
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct student records as required.
Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order and safety among the students for whom they are responsible, under the guidance of the Principal.
Enforces all administrative policies and rules governing students.
Meets with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress. Confers with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to discuss children's progress and resource needs, and to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems, as appropriate.
Confers with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula. Collaborates with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs.
Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Attends staff meetings, and serves on staff committees as required.
Prepares students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Prepares and implements remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
Instructs and monitors students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injury and damage. Provides special needs students with assistive devices, supportive technology, and assistance accessing facilities such as restrooms, as necessary.
Plans and supervises class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities, as appropriate, and guides students in learning from such activities.
Uses computers, multi-media, and other equipment and materials to support the learning process. Organizes and supervises recreational and other activities as appropriate, to promote physical, mental, and social development.
Sponsors extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests, as appropriate. Performs supervisory duties, as assigned, such as hall, cafeteria and playground monitoring, and bus loading and unloading.
Plans assignments for Education Assistants, Special Education and other classroom support staff as appropriate, and assists the Principal in their supervision and evaluation of performance.
Performs other related tasks as appropriate, including organizing materials, displaying students' work, as assigned
Experience & Qualifications :
- Alberta Teaching Certificate;
- Previous experience administering middle and high school curriculum;

A commitment to Christian education.
Provide a Statement of personal Christian Faith detailing a commitment to Christian Faith and education, with an accompanied letter of Pastoral reference (required).

Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector check from Local Police Service or RCMP detachment;
