Job Description :
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in commercial property accounting, a strong background in CAM (Common Area Maintenance) and tax recoveries, and proficiency with the Yardi ERP system.
This role requires an individual with a solid understanding of accounting principles and a keen eye for detail, capable of managing multiple properties and providing accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple commercial properties.
- CAM and Tax Recoveries : Oversee and manage the CAM and tax recovery process, including annual reconciliations and tenant billings.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for assigned properties.
- Audit Support : Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Tenant Accounting : Manage tenant ledgers, including rent payments, charges, and adjustments.
- Lease Administration : Review and interpret lease agreements to ensure proper billing and compliance with lease terms.
- Accounts Payable / Receivable : Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- General Ledger : Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Financial Analysis : Perform financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- System Management : Utilize the Yardi ERP system for financial reporting, data entry, and management of property accounting functions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-4 years of commercial property accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of CAM and tax recovery processes.
- Audit experience, with the ability to support internal and external audits.
- Proficiency in Yardi ERP system is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
