Job Description :
Reporting to the Department Chair, the Supervisor, Counselling Operations, oversees the administrative operations of the Counselling Services Department.
This position supervises the Assistants in their day-to-day tasks and supports the Counselling team. The Supervisor is an active contributor to the Counselling Services team in providing input in developing and implementing front-line procedures, policies, and protocols.
This position oversees the maintenance of a safe, inclusive, and welcoming student-facing working environment, in consultation with the Chair.
Performs all duties according to work performance standards set by the College.
Qualifications Required :
Education & Experience
- Two-year Diploma or Associate Degree in a related discipline such as social work, psychology, counseling, business administration, etc.
- Six (6) years’ recent relevant experience including : Providing support services to individuals, office administration / office management, overseeing operations and implementing processes, at least two years’ supervisory experience, overseeing two or more employees (e.
g. scheduling, staffing, training, delegation of tasks, etc.).
- A n equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience managing confidential student files.
- Experience working with clinical scheduling software, such as Titanium, an asset.
- Experience serving individuals presenting with mental or physical distress (e.g. medical office, counseling office, social services office, etc.)
- Knowledge of and / or training in mental health policies and guidelines, mental health / suicide first aid, etc. an asset.

- Ability to supervise, plan, schedule, train, and evaluate the work of employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively with community members in a diverse and multicultural environment often who are experiencing high stress, and / or emotional and psychological distress, upholding trauma-informed principles of care.

- Ability to implement and operationalize and oversee a counselling services triage process to ascertain needs of students and department inquiries.

- Demonstrated supervisory skills.

- Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and demonstrated ability to use and produce spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to update website content.
- Keyboarding skills of 45 wpm.
Hours & Days of Work : Monday to Friday 8 : 30am to 4 : 30pm
