Position : Heath, Safety & Environment Manager
Location : Hamilton, ON
Salary : $95,000 - $105,000 Yearly
Industry : Construction / Health & Safety
Employment Term : Full Time / Permanent
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all HSE related regulations
- Managing relationships with all internal and external members
- Being up to date with regulations and industry practices
- Providing the necessary training and guidance to ensure the Health and Safety system is understood and followed by all members
- Responsible for performing daily audits for identifying and controlling any hazards
- Investigate all incidents and perform the necessary steps to avoid further occurrence in the future
- Ensure all workplace injuries are reported within required timeframes
- Complete incident reports as needed
- Organize workshops, training seminars and presentations to educate employees on health & safety issues and promoting a safe working environment
- Travel and visit sites as required
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications & Experience :
- Post secondary education in occupational health and safety or equivalent
- 5 7 years of experience in a HSE role preferably in a managerial position
- Experience in Civil construction preferred
- Strong working knowledge of OH&S Acts and other applicable legislation
- Expertise in investigation and auditing techniques (COR / ISO)
- Experienced with WSIB reporting and IHSA COR requirements
- NCSO certification is required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- French would be an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Position requires traveling to multiple locations, valid driver’s license required
