We specialize in environmental planning and management, environmental assessment, the natural sciences, regulatory approvals, impact studies, monitoring, solid waste management, transit planning, renewable energy, hydrogeology and environmental site assessment.
Morrison Hershfield has extensive experience with the provision of advisory, design, construction oversight and environmental planning services for transit and transportation infrastructure and a 40+ year history of successfully delivering a wide array of such projects for clients across Canada.
In addition, we have an extensive AFP / P3 footprint across Canada, in roles covering both Owner’s Engineer / Technical Advisory Services and Design Services for builders.
We are currently seeking an Environmental Assessment Lead to complement our Canadian environmental team, located in our Vancouver office.
Due to expanding business opportunities within the company, this position offers potential for growth.
Responsibilities :
The incumbent will be responsible for leading the growth of our business in multiple sectors including renewable power generation and transmission, supporting engineering projects delivered from our Western Canadian offices.
Tasks are expected to include :
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
Identify and pursue opportunities to support projects
Manage the environmental assessments of projects
Manage permitting for those projects
Lead consultation with regulatory agencies
Review technical reports
Lead and support proposal preparation
Direct internal technical team members and subject matter experts in a team environment
Qualifications :
University degree in Environmental Studies / Biology / Engineering or a related field of study
Minimum 10 years of directly related experience
Prior experience assessing the environmental affects on renewable power projects
Excellent working knowledge of provincial, territorial, and federal environmental assessment legislation
Excellent working knowledge of provincial, territorial, and federal power project permitting requirements
Excellent working knowledge of BC's Environmental Assessment Act (2018)
Strong interpersonal skills
Proven ability to prepare comprehensive reports and plans
Knowledge of sustainability and climate change mitigation and adaptation
Valid Driver's License an asset
