What you’ll do here :
With full guidance, following guidelines carries out the different activities related to the execution of platform development activities by developing automation to enable software development and deployment by implementing CI / CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, etc.
Implements and tests low to moderately complex code changes to fix identified defects in existing s / w products (e.g., identify and debug an application) or to moderately enhance new / future s / w releases.
Troubleshoots low to moderate defects within code (within own component); may provide input into and performs actions as designated in the remediation plan.
May assist in the development of requirements with product management and architects; provides recommendations to enhance design to prevent recurring defects.
Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized initiatives to come up with high level design. Basic understanding on how to install and configure hardware / software / cloud services
Assists and provides additional support in solving software / systems monitoring issues and escalations which require moderate technical expertise to troubleshoot.
Complete low to medium configuration activities such as alerts, dashboards, etc.
Assists in automation of deployment of solutions as code
What you bring to the table :
You are currently pursuing a University Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
Available to work with us 35 hours per week for Winter 5 ( January 6 to April 25 )
Available to work from the office 2 days a week (and 3 from home)
Must be returning to school in Summer or Fall 5 following your internship
You have 1 or more terms of relevant internship experience
Object-oriented programming skills
Experience in Python and Java programming
An interest in Java / Kotlin, Docker / Kubernetes, Hazelcast / Redis, Spring Boot / Spring Cloud and MongoDB / Oracle technologies
Knowledge of development design patterns
Knowledge and interest in Artificial Intelligence
Understand the basics of an agile way of work
A good understanding of the entire software development lifecycle
Bilingualism is ESSENTIAL for all Montreal roles (French and English)
