Payroll Specialist - 12 Months Contract

Position : Payroll Specialist

Employment Type : Full Time Contract (12 Months)

Industry : Manufacturing & Distribution

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000

Location : Mississauga, ON. - Financial Drive

Responsibilities

• Processing a bi-weekly payroll in-house using native software for approximately 400 employees across Canada
• Assist with project implementation of UKG Pro system for Go-Live Date of January 2025
• Setup new employees in the payroll system and maintain their information (salary adjustments, vacation accrual changes, tax changes, deposit updates etc.)
• Prepare and process the pay for direct deposits and pay advances
• Balancing Time and Attendance to Payroll
• Perform daily and bi-weekly payroll administration
• Process and remit payments to 3rd party vendors / organizations (social club, WCB, unions, garnishments, payroll source deductions)
• Monthly journal entries
• Ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Payroll Administration / Specialist expeirence
• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Certified or working towards certiftication is an asset
• Experience using UKG Pro and Kronos
• Well-versed in payroll legislation and taxation across Canada (excluding QC)
• Strong Microsoft Applications skills (especially Excel)
