Senior Property Underwriter
We are currently in search of a Senior Property Underwriter to join our expanding team in Canada. This role, reporting directly to the Head of Property, requires a candidate with robust analytical skills, adept problem-solving abilities, and effective negotiation and communication capabilities.
Prior experience in property underwriting is essential.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business to ensure profitability within established underwriting guidelines.
- Deliver exceptional service to brokers and clients throughout the underwriting process.
- Cultivate and sustain broker relationships to support business goals.
- Tailor client-focused solutions to meet individual needs.
- Manage timely processing of new and renewal business.
- Maintain accurate file organization and policy documentation.
- Conduct presentations for brokers and clients to facilitate business transactions.
- Enhance brand visibility by participating in industry events and conferences.
Your Qualifications :
- Demonstrates entrepreneurial drive and self-motivation.
- Possesses at least 5 years of underwriting experience in property risks, with a willingness to expand knowledge.
- Exhibits a strong grasp of property wordings and underwriting techniques.
- Proficient in time management and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Completion or pursuit of insurance courses is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word & Outlook) is required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of French and / or German is beneficial.
- Occasional travel to key markets may be necessary.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment while working independently.
