Your role as the Maintenance Manager will be an essential technical resource for the supply chain operation at the Brampton Distribution Centres, focusing on continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as building maintenance issues.
An expert in analyzing existing operations and improving overall organizational performance. Your role as a Manager is one of collaboration, innovation, inspiration, support, and coaching, and in doing so, you help to create and sustain a high-performing culture.
You will complete ongoing risk analysis for the Distribution Centers, set the priorities, develop plans and lead a maintenance team while partnering with Operations and Logistics.
KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS
- Percentage of downtime hours in relation to potential production hours per week
- Delivery of effective service and solutions supporting operational needs
- Achieve budgeted maintenance and operating cost
- Process monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Adherence to all Health and Safety standards and legislation
- Worksite management to ensure viable workflow processes and optimal housekeeping
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Functional
- Oversees diagnostic and repair support for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure adequate product flow through the DC in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Leads and develops a team of maintenance staff to ensure ongoing operation of infrastructure systems, machinery, and equipment at the Brampton DCs.
- Ensure in-house repairs or call-in support from approved suppliers and contractors is used to resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure that maintenance concerns or inquiries from the DC operations team are investigated and that adequate follow-up and issue resolution are provided on a timely basis.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on a scheduled basis for all MHE equipment, including but not limited to conveyor systems, lift trucks, pump trucks, and other equipment in the facility.
- Liaise with the IT Department to ensure the troubleshooting of DC networking, device repairs, and upgrades.
- Manage capital expenditure requests and budget proposals for maintenance projects, including, but not limited to, the purchase of new material handling equipment and a garbage compactor.
- Provide daily reports and participate in daily touchpoints with the Senior Manager, Maintenance, Health & Safety and Sustainability and the DC operations Team.
- Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set / adhere to team budgets, as applicable.
- Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes.
- Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs.
- Embrace and seek out technology that creates high-tech and high-touch solutions for Indigo’s customers.

Qualifications
Work Experience / Education / Certifications
- 5+ years of relevant field experience
- Strong technical understanding of conveyor peripherals, RF scanners, PLC’s, and MHE
- Strong mechanical and electrical background
- Experience operating industrial trucks preferred
- Background in supervision, planning / scheduling, and budgeting preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
