Senior Director, Go-To-Market and Business Operations

This is a global leadership role, that oversees the global Go-To-Market (GTM) PMO and Business Operations (BizOps) functions of Telesat Lightspeed, a telco network based on LEO (low earth orbit) satellites that will be launching services globally in 2027.

This role, in a Senior Director capacity, leads the GTM PMO and BizOps functions. GTM PMO ensures all the Lightspeed go-to-market activities are identified and being executed successfully, at a global scale.

It coordinates across the various functions (engineering, product, marketing, sales, regulatory, operations), is responsible to drive strategic alignment across Telesat senior leadership on priorities and reports on relevant metrics and milestones.

BizOps defines the Lightspeed business processes / requirments and works with business users + IT in automating the processes via business applications / support systems (BSS).

They are also focused on process optimization and continuous improvement of the customer journey end to end (sales to billing).

This is a critical role since it ensures all the internal Telesat business functions, processes, applications and systems are coordinated for the successful commercial launch and operation of Lightspeed globally ensuring a best practice customer experience.

Ideal person should have experience coordinating across several functions to successfully launch services globally as well as experience liaising with senior business leaders & IT to drive optimal processes and business applications.

The ideal candidate has a collaborative style, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to get things done, being resourceful and intrapreneurial.

Leadership role, involving leading an existing team of managers and individual contributors as well as ready to roll up sleeves and take on tasks as an individual contributor when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the GTM program management office (PMO)
• Own the overall GTM plan, including defining it and keeping it up to date
• Coordinate with other PMO functions (e.g., Eng., IT, Finance, Legal, HR)
• Drive the governance across senior leadership and working teams
• Define and measure appropriate metrics, progress vs milestones, dashboards
• Surface relevant risks and coordinate to implement relevant mitigations
• Build the GTM PMO team, hiring as needed
• Lead the BizOps function
• Implement an effective operating model (systems, process) to ensure BizOps has an effective process definition, requirements management, testing and change management capabilities
• Drive alignment with key stakeholder leaders on key business processes and workflows
• Establish optimal engagement model with business users and IT
• Support IT in effective vendor management and collaboration
• Identify and implement strategic avenues for business process optimization & simplification
• Manage and build the BizOps team, hiring as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience
• At least 10 years relevant experience
• Experience in program / project management, business requirements, process definition, change management
• Experience in Telco business support systems (BSS) : CRM, CPQ, product catalog, quoting, order mgmt., revenue mgmt.., billing, customer service delivery / assurance.
• Experience in Netcracker, Amdocs, or SAP BSS preferred
• Education
• University degree in a relevant discipline(s)

• Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management and leadership / stake holders across an organization
• Ability to prioritize opportunities, needs and resources

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work in Canada preferred
• Occasional travel (about once in 2 months) to Telesat offices
